Posted By: Jim Sat, Sep 13, 2014 This is the peach of imortality, often seen held by the Chinese star god Shou (one of three). He is the god of long life. The round mark on the side is one of his very many symbols and is read as 'Shou' He may be the figure on the right on the other side, but I can't be sure. For more, search for Shou and Chinese Star Gods. The pictures below are Shou and another of his symbols. Regards, Jim |

Posted By: Bill H Sat, Sep 13, 2014 Your bronze (?) peach is a Chinese Daoist symbol of long life. It has images of four of the eight Daoist deities called "Immortals" on one side, as well as a medallion with the stylized Chinese character "Shou" (壽 - Long Life) on the other. I would guess it probably is one of what originally was a pair made circa the early to mid-20th century for a Daoist altar. |
