Subject:Ameterasu Calligraphy & Saigoku 33 Scrolls help!
Posted By: Fujin Tue, Sep 16, 2014 IP: 86.185.32.20

Hi!

I was hoping someone here could help me with two scrolls I bought a while ago. One is a calligraphy of Ameterasu 天照大御神, and the other is an old Saigoku 33. While I have worked out the main Kanji are, both have a panel of calligraphy running down the left side, with a seal mark underneath. Both of the seals are very complex, as is the calligraphy, and I really don't know where to start with either! If someone can help me with a translation that would be really great! Thanks in advance!

Photo 1 is Ameterasu, photo 2 is Saigoku 33.

I haven't read the first scroll materials but the leftmost inscription in your second photograph includes the date of March 1963
