Hello to all,
this painting was left to me by a family member.
I was wondering if someone could tell me if it is special or of some importance, as I do not know anything about Chinese art.
The work is painted on paper. The paper has very fine, vertical parallel lines, which are visible in the paper fibre.

Hi Veronica,
This was painted within the past few decades or even years by someone calling themselves (a nickname) 墨雲, which in Chinese means literally "Ink Cloud". The painting is entitled "New Spring", as plum blossoms bloom in late winter and are seen as a harbinger of spring. The paper is a popular Chinese painting and calligraphy paper called "xuan" paper. This picture is meant as "decorative" rather than "fine" art.
