I am wondering what the marking on the bottom means..

It says "Made at Jingdezhen" (Jingdezhen Zhi).

Would anyone have any idea about age and purpose? I have an identical bowl except the background colour is red. I thought it might be Straits porcelain because it is so colorful. Thanks in advance if you are able to assist with any further information!
