Subject:Please Help ~ What is this? Wood Box/Trunk
Posted By: John DeGiacomo Thu, Oct 02, 2014 IP: 69.126.213.37

Hey guys. I post here every now and then when I come across something I am not familiar with and you guys have been very helpful. Ran across this chest trunk, looks old but my guess is a reproduction the last 25 years or so. One side opens, primitive hinges. Has a very Asian Japanese look feel to the top. The top seems like it could be a katana stand of some sort but I do not see anywhere where a bracket wouldve mounted. Also what throws me is the holes in the side of the chest. Are they for carrying poles?
Any help would be appreciated. And if this for some reason is not Asian related, the mods can remove it and I am sorry for wasting your time

~ John
