Subject:Japanese Plate ?

I realy like to know if this is a Japanese plate is. Prox. 35cm and has a golden mark on the back.

The kanji characters read down in two stacks from the right as "Made in Japan", which I believe may be transcribed as "Ni-hon no Kuni Sei".

Since the mark lacks the character "Dai" (大) to connote "imperial" before "Japan", the dish would appear to be post-Meiji, probably Taisho or early Showa period, circa 1912 through 2nd quarter, 20th century.
