Subject:Imari plate with scallop edge, lotus mark on base
Posted By: Tom Sun, Nov 16, 2014 IP: 173.73.100.104 The Imari plate pictured below measures 9 1/2" in diameter and about 1 1/2" high. It is unusually heavy. The interior design panels are separated by an impressed line, the central circular design is separated with an impressed line, and there is a line around the outer edge that causes a small lip. The base is marked with what appears to be a lotus flower in the center, and under the lotus I can feel a spur mark. I would be interested in where and approximately when it was made. Thanks. |
