Subject:help with Chinese album painting

This came with a small lot of Japanese ehon I just purchased. This seems to be Chinese to me. There are eight landscapes total, however the album is in three pieces so there may have been more. Unfortunately the label on the cover is gone. If anyone can provide any information I would appreciate it.

The last three characters and red seal at the end of the inscription indicate this to be a work (or perhaps a copy of a work) by the famed Ming Dynasty painter Wen Boren (文伯仁 - 1502---1575). I'm sure Rat will be able to clarify matters. The Wikipedia link to further info on Wen is below.

imitation, by a +/- mid 20th century artist but claiming to be a work by Ming landscapist Wen Boren.

might be earlier than mid 20th century, but I'd rather be conservative.

Thanks again for your expertise.
I had no clue concerning the artist or authenticity, but I thought it showed a bit more age. Is there anything in particular that told you the painting is this recent? Or is this more of an overall experience thing? Either way, I appreciate your input.

the mid 20th century date was just one of those instantaneous things when you recognize something as like other things you've seen before but can't exactly say why. But looking again I think you are right that it could plausibly date somewhat earlier as I also posted above. It's got some nice color and the painter isn't a total hack (not trying to be rude, my point is that the painter incorporates some traditional stylistic elements). It just has nothing to do with Wen Boren despite the "seal" and "signature" claiming otherwise
