Subject:Japanese Vase - Hyozan?
Posted By: Joe Fri, Dec 19, 2014 IP: 24.44.45.107 This is a repost. Can anyone tell me if I am correct in say the Japanese Satsuma Vase has the "Hyozan" mark on the base? Any help with would be greatly appreciated in identify the mark and or age. Thank you in advance. |

Posted By: Bill H Mon, Dec 22, 2014 I got a couple of Google hits on auction results for Satsuma ware probably having the same mark, rendered as "Zenkozan", but without the characters given. My best online dictionary indicated Zenkozan to be a surname. I've pasted both links herewith. One of them dates its item as Taisho Period (1912-26). |
