Subject:Netsuke Kanji Translation Needed

I just bought this netsuke and can't figure out the signature, heck, I can't even decide which way is up! Please help me figure what this says, Please.

Howard,

I can't help with the signature, but it is easy to tell which way is up. Loop a string through the holes in the back and hold the ends of the string. The netsuke will assume it's natural position when it is under your obi at your waist. Given where the center of gravity is on this piece, it looks like the mouse's nose will be pointed down at the ground. It looks pretty well executed, but the poor little fellow seems to have lost part of his right ear.

Thanks Stan, I like him too. Your reply scared me as my old eyes don't see like they used to, so I went back over him with a loupe and it is just my poor photography. Both ears are identical and as carved.
