Subject:Japanese Pottery Bowl

Hello,

I have a Japanese pottery bowl but unfortunately I do not know what area of pottery this would be considered under. Im also curious of its function as it has two holes in the side of the bowl. Can anyone translate the mark? Thank you for your help!

Daniel, I can't tell you any thing about the bowl but the 4 holes probably held a rattan handle that has broken or rotted off.
