Subject:QI BAI SHI?

Subject:Re: QI BAI SHI?
Posted By: rat Mon, Dec 29, 2014 Looks like a printed reproduction, maybe from a group of 8 or 12 such pictures, but this image and calligraphy don't look not very typical of Qi, so a bit of a puzzle. |

Posted By: rat Thu, Jan 01, 2015 Hi Marcos, thanks for these additional images of the set. They do seem to be printed reproductions to me, perhaps dating from around the 1950s, but I don't recognize this particular group of pictures of his (though he did paint many pictures of these subjects, and eventually had relatives and students painting them under his name too). To me they seem a bit on the crude side for Qi himself, or else they have lost some subtlety in being reproduced. Genuine paintings by Qi may look simple but they really hold your eyes and attention. |
