Hello, I was recently lucky enough to acquire some nice paintings on silk. The son of the estate owner only new that the paintings were giving to his family as a gift sometime in the 1940's by a friend of the family who was in the military.

One painting is of a tiger in a bamboo forest, with right foot forward and two cubs beneath it. The other painting is of two peacocks standing on rocks and surrounded by some pink flowers. The dimensions are as stated in the subject.

I am having trouble, as most seem to be, identifying the signature or writing on the paintings. I have done quite a bit of research and have come up empty handed. I think the characters are Japanese and have tried using some online tools to find out the meaning but without success. Since I can only post three pictures I will post a picture of both paintings overall and then the signatures for both. Any information would be helpful. Thank you.
