Subject:Crackleware
Posted By: Coling Mon, Jan 19, 2015 IP: 119.237.165.88

I'm wondering if anyone can provide any info on this piece, which has been part of my family collection for many years.
Thanks

Normally these pieces are given as 19th c but this piece has a beautiful Ge glaze and is potentially Qianlong mark and period.

I suggest you contact Sothebys Bonhams or Christies and definitely include a photo of the base.

Do not remove any of the labels as these may prove good provenance, especially the exhibition sticker.

This is the catalogue which should have details of your piece.

Good luck

Nice pull on the catalogue Victor.

I believe the item is found on p. 283, item #2646, Oriental Crackle Bottle, covered with bronze coloured composition, and contributed by the same Rev. T. Staniforth listed on the bottom label.

Cheers
Gman
