Subject:Kutani Bowl
Posted By: GerryG Fri, Jan 23, 2015 IP: 109.125.19.226

Hi, I've attached pictures of a Kutani Bowl which I believe to be Meiji period pprobably 1880 - 1900. It just has the Kutani mark to the base and no maker's mark. It seems to be very fine quality. I'd be obliged if anyone can confirm the date, maybe explain the symbolism of the decorative figures and potential quality of the bowl. It measures 4" high by about 12" in diameter.
