Subject:Chinese drawings bought on auction (1/6)

I have recently bought 6 drawings on auction reportedly from 19 and 20th century. It is my first acquisition on Chinese drawing and would be very grateful to know anything about them. Thanks in advance. PS: as I follow this forum for a while, I heard Rat is the specialist on this category! 

Hi Andre, I think you've actually ended up purchasing a varied group of Japanese pictures rather than Chinese paintings, some of which seem to be woodblocks or reproductions of some sort. Perhaps someone more familiar with Japanese art than I am can dis/confirm.

Thank you so much Rat. I was biased to think it was chinese as the action house indicated them as chinese in the description... Anyway it just proves it takes a lot of training and depth for me to just even recognizing if it is a chinese or japanese painting/reproduction/woodlook! Thanks again! Andre

Hi Andre, I concur with Rat, they are all Japanese, not Chinese. This one is signed with the signature and seal of Matsumura Goshun (1782-1811), with the kanji reading 呉春 for 'Goshun'. I couldn't possibly say whether this is an original, or a later reproduction just by looking at the photos.
