Subject:Chinese drawings bought on auction (6/6)
Posted By: Andre Bartolomeu Tue, Jan 27, 2015 IP: 79.168.7.107

I have recently bought 6 drawings on auction reportedly from 19 and 20th century. It is my first acquisition on Chinese drawing and would be very grateful to know anything about them. Thanks in advance. PS: as I follow this forum for a while, I heard Rat is the specialist on this category! 

This one looks like it might be a woodblock print. Others look like watercolor paintings, and not "drawings."

Hi Andre, this is a Japanese woodblock print of Ume tree in the snow. The seal reads 景年 for 'Keinen', which I presume is for Imao Keinen (1845-1924), most famous for his set of four volumes titled 'Keinen Kacho Gafu - Bird and Flower Albums by Keinen.' published in 1891.
