The stand might not originally have held the present inexpensive brass bell. Could have held imitation of bronze temple gong, for use in small shrine.

Probably late 20th century.

Probably late 20th century, hmmm. The wood looks dark, as does your photo. Try using a flash or take photo outside in the light, show the wood, show in the inside of bell. Good quality photos tell the story....
