Around 2006-2009, there were still a lot of jadeite carvings, pendants and slabs being available on eBay or on line. Many of them were sold for very fair prices albeit most of them were modern and were just average quality.
I happened to see a US seller selling a large group of jade carvings, mostly elephants and some other jade animals, some jade eggs. I could not tell what types of jade they were made of but believed some of them could be nice nephrite from their pictures. I was told that they were old stocks that were sold to a person at St. Louis, MO, USA during the 60s. Many of the jade elephants were very large, weighed over 100 grams and they were pretty decent, although modern. Since I bought a lot of them, the seller gave me a discount and after I received them, I was astonished to find all of them were made of jadeite. I felt that I had got a very good deal even for modern jadeite carvings (we can actually call them vintage.)

Today, there were hardly any good jadeite carvings, pendants or slabs that were available for sales at decent prices on eBay. A few bigger jadeite dragon turtles were for sales for several hundred US dollars. I do not see too many dealers from Thailand or Hong Kong selling decent jadeite items any more. I heard there had been a shortage of jadeite from Burma.
