Subject:My first antique chinese porcelain plate?
Posted By: MustbeGood Sun, Mar 22, 2015 IP: 83.117.96.225

Hello,
Yesterday I bought my first chinese antique porcelain plate?
Damage was 3$. I thought I could figure it out but
I'm kinda stuck
Tried some apps: Chinese handwriting/Pleco
Tried some chinese char websites: They could not recognize my writing.
Was looking for books but that could maybe help but it was quite $$: Handbook of Marks on Chinese Ceramics
So anybody can guide me in the right direction?
Thank you.

My best recollection and reference books indicate that there were no four-character double-circled blue & white marks of "Made during the Kangxi Reign" (Kangxi Nian Zhi) on porcelains of the period. Combined with those drill-holes for the string hanger, your plate would seem to be a decorative piece made no earlier than the late 20th century.

Best regards,

Bill H.
