Subject:Blooms Shaped Trinket Box
Posted By: Adele Tue, Apr 07, 2015 IP: 65.216.182.2

Can anyone help me identify and date this trinket box. I received it in a lot of items that I purchased. Most of the other items were dated back to the 40 and 50's and were items that were brought home after WII.

This appears also to be a late 20th century product, probably transfer-decorated, dating to the 3rd quarter of the 20th century or later. I believe that during this time period, Chinese porcelain blanks of this form were being decorated not only in Hong Kong and Macao painting factories but also in storefront kilns in Thailand.

Bests regards,

Bill H.

The Chinese characteres repeat the English, Western syyle, left to right. This is post cultural revolution PRC, after 1969. Regards, Jim
