Subject:help finding the name of painting and artist
Posted By: Aiste Tue, Apr 14, 2015 IP: 162.234.58.125

Hello everyone,

I wanted to see if anyone here could help me find the name of an artist. I found a painting several years ago and I don't remember the name of the artist. I loved the painting so much and none of my internet searches have been successful.
The painting is of a woman, slightly unrealistic, standing in a large body of water. There are reeda around her and she has one finger in the water. Where he finger touches the water glows. I think there was also a fish but I don't remember. I'm positive that the painter was either Japanese or Chinese but I don't remember which I was searching for at the time. I would be so grateful if someone could provide me with the name. I love that painting and want to find it again.

Thank you!

Sorry, I haven't the faintest idea. There's no famous Chinese picture of this subject. The only thing that comes to mind is possibly a 20th century Japanese devotional painting of some sort, eg of Benzaiten, a female goddess of music and art who is associated with water. Google
"Japanese paintings of Benzaiten" to see if they relate to your request

Thank you, unfortunately that's not what I was looking for. This has been driving me crazy for years. I found the painting online for an art asighnment in college. Its a modern painting for sure. I think it was made with oil paint. This is going to bug me forever.

The description of the painting that
you're looking for reminds me of the
final scene of The Last Airbender when
Princes Yue magically brings the 'moon
spirit' back to life. Good luck.
