Subject:Need help with Translation on Antique Pottery

Hello,
I inherited a large glazed pottery platter that appears to be of considerable age. The only markings on the entire platter appear on the bottom and look to be Japanese. Any help with translation or language origin is greatly appreciated

This cursive signature appears to be 永山, which might be the Japanese surname and place name transcribed as "Nagayama" or the surname transcribed as "Eiyama". I also found ceramics on eBay with the same characters rendered as "Eizan". It might help others more familiar with such Japanese wares pitch in with clarification of the applicable name if you'd actually show a picture of your platter.

Thanks. Guy has done a fine job of clarifying my misreading of the name. Your additional pictures suggest to me that this may be a bulb bowl or a stand for something, perhaps meant to support a censer or oval flower pot. The size, weight and lack of decoration would seem to me to rule out use as a serving tray for food.
