Subject:Carved buffalo bone
Posted By: Alex Harrison Wed, May 13, 2015 IP: 175.142.219.254

Hey guys. Came across this item on ebay. The seller says it is antique but was unable to tell me how old it is. He said he bought it in an antique store in Indonesia.
Does anyone have any idea on how old it is? And who is this i assume goddess figure?
Thanks,

Alex

I think the lion looking animal on lower part is a Barong since it's from Bali.

This is more likely camel bone, often called camel ivory because of it hardness and the patina that it develops with age. Compare with some antique pieces. Regards, Jim
