Subject:Dayak (?) Carving on Skull Piece

I recently purchased a carved piece of animal skull(?) which a friend said could be Iban Dayak from Borneo. It measures about 7 inches tall and 5 inches wide. Any information you can give me would be appreciated. Thanks.

Certainly has the look of a Dayak work but I dont think it is a skull although it is carved to look like a decorative mask. Have you ruled out possibility that it is the front piece of a turtle shell?

At one point I thought it might be a turtle shell but it appears to be heavier than a turtle shell and does not have the plate structure of a carapace. Also the underside of the piece has prominences which I don't think turtle shells have. I am certainly not an expert on either turtle shells of skulls so this is just my opinion. So far you are the only one to respond to my post and it's apprecaited.
