Subject:chinnosiore vase

I have an unusual hand painted with exotic birds and pagoda in the Chinnosoire style. It has a leathery look with a white underglaze then a brow.ish glaze abd finally a black glaze with brilliant hand painted scene atop the black. It is about 30 inches high. The final black glaze is fairly delicate and has lifted in a couple of small spots. The painting has no texture to it and is smooth like a glaze would be so assume it is. It has a gilded rim and base. I have no idea if someone over glazed an old vase or what. There is no marks on the bottom other than some low relief dragon forms.any help as to age or origin would be appreciated. .I am guessing late Victorian export item.the little dragon image under the bridge in 5 he pagoda moot is just too much of a coincidence and I think rules out someone in Eurpoe over painting an old crackle glaze vase although that was my first impressions.

Sorry I live in a remote spot with spotty Web service. Hard to finish a phone call without interruption. Pics often just don't make it through the eye of the Internet needle. I find these images on almost all fine porcelain and Asian metal work. Not sure of the meaning but it is almost always there like the fact of the dragon in the bottom of vases if you stand with the light coming over your shoulder so you illuminate the interior of the vase. Most of these things are not visible to the naked eye but a piece of paper and a graphite pencil reveal much.this the same image rotated so you can see from different angles.thanks for anyone who can shed light on these. Seems to be on almost everything Asian. On Song stuff in particular so it is an old tradition. Now I have converted to small 20% normal size and jpg but still they are too big. Any smaller and I doubt they will be visible. Sorry but I don't understand why this is the only site that requires such tiny images. So you will have to flip this one around yourself. If there is no image here I will try again to reduce further when I have the time. Sorry but it looks like it doesn't like that effort 3 other. I will just post pic lTer without this lengthy explanation which I feel necessary as I have felt berated on this forum before for not posting pics. We should not extrapolate our own wonderful Internet service to the rest of the world. Some of live with very poor service.
