Using Botan's seal scripts translation:

人用財試，To measure a person's character, test (tempt) him with money;
金用火試
to verify real gold, test it with fire.

Unfortunately, the material used to make this seal, is not real jade, but rather some soft stone, probably serpentine, or xiu yu.

Botan is right. In my laziness I reversed the characters to read them individually, but neglected to reverse the composition. Shame, shame, shame!

Hi, Mike: Don't be too hard on yourself. I could not even tell what the seal scripts said until you and Botan ciphered them. A lot of time, some of these scripts on seals could be mumble jumble. Cheer. Super
