Subject:Large ring made of some kind of stone ? China ?

Good day.

I am wondering if somebody can tell me what this "ring" is for ?

It belonged to a very good friend of mine and unfortunately I can not ask her anymore as she is no longer with us.

The diameter is 27cm (about 11 inches).
Type of stone unknown.
Origin unknown.
No markings / signatures.

She collected a lot of Chinese items including bi discs so I took the liberty to presume this is Chinese too...

China..YES.. a bangle (?) of sorts, but I am afraid it is a copy, plus it has been altered to look like an ancient Jade carving. A specific gravity test would show if it is Jade.But even if it is, there is no great value..sorry.
