Subject:Print Question/ Chinese or Japanese?
Posted By: Lance Frazer Thu, Jul 16, 2015 IP: 67.187.170.37 Greetings. I was researching several Japanese prints on John Resig's excellent site, and found that no copies of this particular image (url link below) were to be found. Not sure what that means, but one individual said it looked Chinese, rather than Japanese. I would be most grateful for any and all input from the members of this forum. Additionally, I found that the artist credited for one of my prints was one Izuno Gizan (1885-1957). Have yet to find much information about this individual, and would also be grateful for any references. |

Posted By: Lance Frazer Fri, Jul 17, 2015 Thank you for that. I am still hoping to find out who the artist was. I have found one other copy of this print, advertised by an antiques site and merely described as "Chinese style", but with no other information. As mentioned, this did not show up on John Resig's site. Don't know if it's because the print is rare or there were so few done. |
