Subject:Ceramic teapot - any insight appreciated

I picked up this teapot, about 5" high, in a thrift store. I have been unable to find anything to compare it to. A friend who teaches in Shanghai was kind enough to show the mark to one of his Chinese students who said the mark is "old Chinese."

I would totally appreciate any clues that would help me figure out origin, age, and/or value. Thanks.

We would definitely need to see at least one photo. One of the mark as well.

I did post photos with my question; apparently they did not show up. I am trying again now.
