Your cup and saucer have a motif of the Boston Tea Party, when colonists dressed as Indians and threw British tea into Boston Harbor. This was an iconic moment from the American Revolutionary era of the late 18th century and has an apocryphal mark of China's Qing Dynasty Qianlong Emperor, who was on the throne at the time. An identical set is featured at the seller's link below, described as vintage Chinese export. There's not much additional information at the link, so you might want to look further on the web to see if it actually was made in China. I suspect these wares may have been issued to commemorate the bicentennial of the American Revolution, which was celebrated in the years surrounding 1975.

Good Luck,

Bill H.
