Hello,

I need Help with translation.

Thank you

The characters read down as 和珍 (He Zhen), which could be a surname (He) and given name. "He" also has various literal meanings, principally "unity", "peace" and "harmony", while "Zhen" denotes something precious.

Best regards,

Bill H.

It did not look like it was made of silver to me. More than likely made of nickel silver. Of course I can be wrong. If it was made of silver, there should be a mark on its bottom. 和珍 may be the name of the silver smith if it was indeed made of silver. The rendition of the two Chinese characters and its design, almost appears to me was that of somebody who were not Chinese though.

Hello,

I found a stamp in the box cover.

Can you help me to know what that means?

Thank you

The photo is upside down as posted, but when flipped 180 degrees, the mark reads down as the same characters, 和珍 (He Zhen), that appear on the right side of the box lid. In my opinion, this would seem to indicate conclusively that both marks are the makers name. I did a character search with the term "silversmith" via Google but found no relevant information.

Best regards,

Bill H.
