Subject:Chinese Bowl - 6 charachter mark
Posted By: Anthony PvR Thu, Nov 12, 2015 IP: 24.155.238.229 Hi Everyone, I have a new bowl with a 6 character mark that I do not recognize as a reign mark. Any help reading/translating would be appreciated. Not very sure of the age of the piece. I believe it to be late Ming or transitional Qing. There are clear chatter marks on the base and many rims frits. This bowl came from a Japanese dealer and had spent most of it existence in Japan. One side has a very old fill "kintsugi" with gold (not pictured). The large mark on the inside of the bottom rim is an original firing flaw. Any thoughts from anyone? |
