"not sure why not many answers on here anymore"

1) Loads of people are wanting free translation service instead of paying a professional or going to the nearest University or museum that might have a helpful staff person.

2) There is a major trend in folks' acquiring modern material with little artistic value, but they are interested in what they can sell it for rather than understanding aesthetics, techniques or cultural background.

I now do not laugh at people's saying something "looks old" by which they mean maybe 50 years old, or dirty or cracked, rather than 600 or 2000 years. Aren't schools teaching history any more?

You have to excuse me, Billy or whoever you might be. I checked and it appears that you usually posted several threads in this forum each month with items you had apparently found in local estate sales in California (according to your messages) and then posted those you could not attribute here for free identifications before you would sell them for profit (according to your messages), some time for very high amount (your own words).

Of course, that was nothing wrong with this, some other people were also doing that. However, the worse part is when you did not get what you wanted you started making sniping remarks such as:

"Wanyu right or not or have all the asians died."

http://www.asianart.com/phpforum/index.php?method=detailAll&Id=92456

or like the ones posted here by you:

"not sure why not many answers on here anymore, maybe asian collectors want all things listed on ebay for themselves. just like in the past I posted some items and nobody told me anything and I sold for a very high amount."

First of all, this is a free forum, posters did not get paid for rendering their opinions, therefor just like many other MBs, you got what you paid for, which is nothing;

Secondly, the photos you posted in this thread were excruciably horrible and many of what you posted are not antiques, therefore how you expected others to give you any enthusiastic opinions?

Thirdly, there were tons of threads posted in this forum daily, and usually there were only a few people (like Bill H or rat) who would respond to them and they had to be selective. There are a few professionals here but their time are not free, why should you expect them to do free works for you when you are not a real collector but in essence a dealer yourself? Did you give away your items free?

May be you should come to an agreement with a local expert or one in this forum so you can pay them to attribute and appraise your pieces in the future?

In short, if you expect accurate and timely attribution/appraisal services on your "merchandises", you should pay for them and claim them as your business expenses. I would not have said anything till I saw you sniping remarks regarding Asians. IMHO, that was very disrespectful.
