Subject:Chinese carved jade seal
Posted By: Brett Fri, Apr 08, 2016 IP: 69.119.204.101

This looks like the case may be shell, maybe tortoise. The inside of the case is signed and there are 2 signatures on the jade piece. The bottom seal has some English as well characters. Any ideas on age, material, artists? Thanks for any help.

Not jade - possibly a low grade shoushan stone.

Dated July 13, 1945.

Carved by someone named 'Ding.

Carved at what looks to be called the seal society of eight seal carvers.
