Subject:Help with writing on storage jar, probably Chinese

I bought this jar as a lamp, and when I looked at it closer, I noticed that the whole shoulder has writing under the brown glaze. If anyone could translate it and tell me anything about the jar, I would be very appreciative. Thanks.

seems like a folk saying or aphorism from the few characters I can make out. please take clearer photos such as your last one for all the sections of the jar, as it's otherwise illegible at least to me.
