Hi, it looks like a ritual axe. Green jade? I would appreciate your expertise about this object.
I did a scratch test, and I couldn't scratch it.
Very nice jade like sound, 9" long. Thank you in advance, all help appreciated. rich

It is possible that this piece was made of low-grade nephrite jade but it is still a modern Hongshan style fantasy piece.

Can''t see the green, must be my monitor...
Yes, I believe this is Nephrite, looks a bit roughly carved, not old,in my opinion.

My immediate thought was that this was more Polynesian than Chinese. Possibly Maori from New Zealand. They worked a lot in 'green stone'.

It's clearly an ancient piece, know one could duplicate that patina. It had to be buried for a long time to get those impressions and inclusions in the Jade material even the tool marks are worn down.

Hi,

I believe you've got the idea from previous comments : modern fantasy (carving style) artificially aged Hongshan 'style' jade.

Since a large variety of dangerous chemicals are used for aging process, I would recommend to avoid touching it and wash your hands after handling.

Otherwise fun, original and good looking.
