Posted By: Robert Mon, May 02, 2016 I think they are more likely Japanese cups for drinking warm sake, rather than tea cups. They are probably from the Meiji period, late 19th to early 20th c, or possibly a little later into the Taisho period. They were likely made for export to the West. Do they come out of the holders? The blue and white porcelain would have been made in Arita, Seto, or Hirado. The mark, which I cannot read, may provide an answer. |
