Subject:Japanese Porcelain ID

Could someone help me with this style of Japanese porcelain and hallmark. I believe it dates to the 40s. Thank you in advance for your knowledge and help.

The figure is that of Hotei, the most popular of the Japanese Seven Lucky Gods, or Gods of Good Fortune. He is somewhat the equivalent of Santa Clause, his sack is filled with gifts. He was made at Ku Tani, Nine Valleys. Kutani is an area in Japan which is host to several hundred kilns. Your mark is generic, that is, not identifiable to a specific kiln. Your figure is finished in moriage, a process which decorates porcelain as you would ice a cake and could be a few decades earlier than 1940.
