Subject:Would like to know what wood is made from, dalbergia odorifera?

a table as pictured,been told have brought 20 years ago in HongKong.
there are Arab Number on the back of the draws.
when clean it with a dump cloth getting black colour off and it turn into light brown as the colour of the draw.

Definitely looks like it.
Handsome piece. Austere, natural wax finish. Handles appear original.
19thC - fairly commercial this model, preferable to central drawer desks at any rate, but desks as a general rule just don't for some reason do as well as tables & other pieces of furniture of the same period.
