I understand why you might have reacted the way you did to Sean's post...his criticism seems a bit direct and sarcastic.
However, I agree with Sean's opinion...the bowl is a modern copy.
How do you I know?
Without the benefit of a time machine, these type of assessments using photos are based upon comparison of color, design, slip, paste, and overall similarity in style to known examples.
In my experience, your bowl is too rigid in design to compare to true Ming style bowls. The paste that I can see in the foot rim does not look like that of Ming period paste. The 'knife' marks on the underside of the bowl look mechanical.
Even the glossiness of the porcelain slip seems to be of modern porcelain.
I hope that even if you do not agree with my assessment that you will investigate further authenticated Ming porcelains from Museum collections. I think if you see more examples in person, you will see your bowl in the light of greater objectivity.
