Posted By: Bill H Thu, Aug 25, 2016 These are products of the late 19th-early 20th century (Guangxu to Republic period) with apocryphal four-character marks of "Made during the Kangxi Reign" (Kangxi Nian zhi - 康熙年製). They might have originally had covers, as seen in another somewhat more carefully painted pair pictured below. Generally speaking, four-character underglaze blue Kangxi marks like this are not of the period, especially when found in conjunction with dragon scales painted in such a "crosshatch & dot" style. |
