Subject:vases... chinese or japanese... help please

Good evening,
I have a chance to purchase this pair and am curious as to origin. Seems Japanese, yet also Chinese to me. Hopefully with the mark someone will be able to help with origin and my confusion.

The mark reads 林實　(contemporary orthography: 林実). Could be pronounced 'Hayashi Minoru' or 'Rinjitsu'. Found no further references.

If this is a duplicate, my apologies. Dropped a book on the keyboard. :(

In Chinese the characters 林實 read Lin Shi, with Lin being the surname.

I spot-checked Chinese character search results, including with characters for porcelain, and found nothing on marked decorated ceramics like the vases seen here.

Thank you Bill and Guy for your replies. Seems still no consensus. The marking reminded me of a Kutani Kaku mark but I havent found that yet. The search continues. Does a late 19th dating seem acceptable?

While I believe the jury probably remains out on whether this mark is Japanese or Chinese, I scanned through the more than 3400 marks in "The New & Revised Handbook of Marks on Chinese Ceramics" (2013 2nd Edition) by Gerald Davison and could find no trace of it in either the standard or seal script section.
