Posted By: Agnes Wed, Nov 09, 2016 IP: 2a02:a31e:2000:f180:

Hey! I'm writing Bachelor Thesis about European influence in Japanese paintings in Meiji period. In my language there aren't too many publications on this topic. Do you know something about this? Or know some books or artickes?

Essential reading I guess is:

Modern Japanese Art and the Meiji State: The Politics of Beauty
by Doshin Sato, Hiroshi Nara, 2011 https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/10550514-modern-japanese-art-and-the-meiji-state
