Subject:Unusual Neolithic jade Axe

Hello to All,

I collect ancient Asian antiques but do not know much about ancient jades, except jade is a difficult subject. About 20 years ago I obtained my only jade, a pale green Neolithic Chinese flat Axe with unusual double holes and a sharp cutting edge as if it was used as a tool. The encrusted dirt in now mineralized and it has natural patterns of calcification, but retains a lot of its original green surface. A jade bangle from the same site was 100% calcified.
It's large at 13 x 11 cm.

I did see one other jade in a book with the same sharp cutting edge on the end.

I would greatly appreciate any feedback on what it is, what culture it's from, and even its value. It was from an anthropologist friend as a gift.

No one wants to touch this on hand of pictures. I suggest bringing it to a museum, or tell us in which town you live, and some jade collector may be able to help you.

yes this one looks neolithic but it is broken. the calcification on it looks ok. this piece is only good for study but isn't worth very much because it is not complete
