Message As noted, the top character means right and the bottom two add up to eleven. Such markings were applied at the factory for quality control purposes, in this case probably to ensure that a mirror-image pair was correctly juxtaposed and situated on the right size stands. The decoration on this vase suggests it might have been made around the Art Nouveau period (circa 1890-1910) to compete with European vases in world markets. Best regards, Bill H. Post a Response |
