Antique Chinese painting on silk |
Posted By: rat Posted Date: Jan 18, 2011 (01:06 PM) |
Message please don't misunderstand, I don't believe your painting was actually done by Jin Yanbiao, that's only what the inscription says and there are many, many examples of Chinese paintings that have had inscriptions added by the unscrupulous in an often successful quest to resell the painting as by a recognized artist. Now that paintings by recognized artists can be readily seen in museums, in books, and online, there is much less basis than in the past for such shenanigans to persist. Don't fall for the same scam. If the painting was indeed done by Jin, I'd appreciate seeing evidence of how consistent it is with what's known of his body of work. Post a Response |
