Hello Jason,
Nuances of carving style, such as the bug-eyed creature at the base of the pedestal, suggest that your table probably was carved in Bali, though the horse-drawn carriage on the top certainly looks Chinese in spirit. The urge to embellish such things incongruously with voluptuous nudes, such as on the upper end of the pedestal, also seems to be one of those curious ailments afflicting many late 20th century Balinese woodcarvers.
Regards,
Bill H.

We have a table like this, and I was wondering if you found out anything else about yours? I was told it could be either ivory or french ivory (synthetic). We are hoping to get it restored.

The top and separate base are molded resinous compound. They were in at least 2 colors.

Little point in trying to 'restore' to original appearance. They were made as inexpensive decoration items.

There have been discussions of these that you can find by searching this website for "Bali".

Good luck,
Cal
