Subject:Help with mark on Yixing vase and necklace pendant
Posted By: Brett Sun, Apr 22, 2018 IP: 69.113.7.85

I got both of these from a thrift store. I think they came from the same person. The vase is nice, but the pendant looks like a tourist piece to me. I assume the writing on the side of the vase is a poem of some sort. Any idea on what the mark says? It looks vaguely similar to the mark on gotheborg for a Desaru cargo teapot dating to 1840. I don't think that is what it is though, probably much later. The pendant is tested and is sterling silver. What would this stone be called? What do the marks on both silver pieces say? Thanks for any and all help. I really appreciate the information that this forum has given me.

So I think I found out the maker of the vase by searching around. It looks pretty spot on with a mark on a Yixing mark website attributed to Tie Hua Xuan. Dated to the republic period. This makes a lot of sense because after re-examining the picture of the bottom I posted, you can see the black smudge is actually the word CHINA. Looks like similar marks found on exports in the early 20th century.

I still am not sure about the pendant though. If anyone knows what those marks say I could use the help. There are not enough English websites attributed to Chinese silver jewelry marks.

Thanks
