Hi,

I do not speak or read Japanese, especially from the 1800's. Can someone help me read what is written on the upper corner of that drawing ?

A machine translation, but others should be able to verify accuracy of "Princess Hayaka blushing" (or "embarrassed"). Appears to be a Japanese black ink woodblock print.

Japanese woodblock 19th century print indeed. The text reads 公主百花羞 - Kôshu Hyatsukashû, or Princess Hyatsukashu (in Chinese Princess Baihuaxia) - one of the characters of the Chinese classical novel 'Journey to the West' (in Chinese 'Xi You Ji or Hsi Yu Chi'; in Japanese 'Saiyûki').
